July, 2002: Ft. Borsh Park Meet

We had our meet up point at SpeedLine so that our friends from the Seattle area could meet up with the Tacoma group for the train down to Centralia. Darren called earlier in the morning stating he was having some problems with his car and could I help him. We 'fixed' the alleged problem and got all set to leave. Part way down, in the Nisqually valley, Darren's clutch pedal started giving him problems again, so we stopped for a few minutes and he then turned around and went back to Tacoma to have Brian have a look at his car, Brian's going to be putting in a new clutch for him by Tuesday or so. The rest of us were now on our way again, we made one final stop at the rest stop just before getting into Centralia to get everyone together again. Pulled in to Fort Borsh Park a little before 12 noon, the Team Sol Oregon group was waiting for us and the place we were going to meet up at had a 442 club meet there, (needless to say they didn't like us by calling out "SMALL --- GO-CARTS" as we rolled past them, small people, big cars!!) so we then went to the next parking area in the park to make 'new' plans. Started with renewing of old friendships along with taking some pictures of every ones car that came. By now everyone was hungry, so we polled everyone and ended up getting our food at the local 'Burgerville', yes that's it name. We then went to the only other park they have in Centralia which just happened to be a block away from the burger place and spent the rest of the meet there. The JDM and Euro parts on Geo's car drew a lot of attention and interest with questions and about where to get the parts from and such. It was a most enjoyable time for us, the Washington group to see and meet up with the Oregon people again, we'll have to do this more then once a year. We had a total of 14 cars come to the meet this month. The Washington people in attendant: Brent N., Brent R., Carrie, David, Geo, Justin and his friend (didn't get his name), Kevin and Jackie, Robert, Sandra and her daughter, for the Oregon people: Edd and Nikki, Jackson, Jason, Mario and Tommie. Thanks to David and Brent N. for coming, their first meet with us. -Geo
