January, 2003: Bellevue Meet

This is our first meet for 2003, it all came about after getting an e-mail from John De Lara who lives in Great Britain. He was going to be here for a week on business and would like to meet with some US Solers while he was here if possible. I notified him back that I was sure we could work out something, even on this short a notice. So with a few e-mails back and forth everything was setup for the meet. So that Saturday Arron and myself (Geo) met up at SpeedLine to train up from the south, Pete said he'd be a little late but would still be making it. Two other members Darren and Mike trained in from the north, with Kristin and her brother coming in from the Kent/Auburn area. I went to the hotel to pickup John as the rest of the group was arriving. After we arrived back John was introduced all around to everyone and the questions began about the different between the US and UK models, lot of information was passed on this. From there we then went to get something to eat at Shari's in Kirkland, while we we're there Rob dropped in. He was doing a music gig next door and saw our cars outside, so John got a peek at the 'Lean Green Machine II', lot of interesting things were said about that back wing it has. By now it was finally time for John to be leaving to catch his flight back home, so Geo took him to the airport to catch his flight. Thanks goes to John and the rest of the Team Sol of WA members that made it a so successful meet this month. Thanks again goes to Arron for the use of the walkie-talkies, that sure helps a lot when doing a sol train. Those in attendance this meet: Arron (Team Sol of Oregon), Darren, Geo, John (Our Honorary Guest), Kristin and her brother, Mike, Pete and Rob - Geo
