August, 2002: Port Townsend MeetIt started out with a glorious sunny day, warm but not too warm. Darren picked up a new member to the club at SpeedLine and we met for the train to the next meet up point at the Hood Canal Bridge. At the bridge with met up with Brent and friends and then waited for Carrie who was a few minutes behind us. After Carrie arrived we continued on with our trip to Port Townsend with a few twisties thrown in for good measure, our next stop was to gas up for those that needed it. From there we went to the pickup point in Port Townsend for any people that were waiting for us, there were two cars. From there we went onto Niffty Fiftys for a bite to eat and to get to know our new members a bit better. They had great food by the way. Onward and upwards we continued out to Ft. Warden after eating to check out the bunkers and to have a chance to look over every ones cars and take some pictures of them. Then we roamed around and through the bunkers for awhile, then back to the cars for a fun run through the country side. It was a very scenic drive with the sunlight shining brightly through the trees as we where driving along. After that we ended up at Brent's folks house for a snack and to see some of the movies that Brent had taken of the previous meets he had been on with us, by now it was going on five or so, so everyone was packing it up to get ready to head home. Everyone looked to have had a excellent time meeting up and talking with everyone. I'd like to take this time to thank Brent for planning and having everything set up for an exciting time for everyone, job well done, I'm sure everybody appreciated the work you put into it. We had a total of 8 eight cars show, with two new member and one older member return after not seeing him for about a year now. The people in attendant this time around were Brent with Jason taking pictures for him, Carrie and friend, Darren, Geo and Mae, Kristin and friend, Matt (good to see you again), Peter, Rob and Krissy (Brent's friends) and Sandy with her grandson. I hope I didn't leave anyone out. I know we would have had three more people come, but two were on vacation and one had to pickup his wife from SeaTac. Sorry that you folks missed it -Geo | ||
