August, 2001: Ft. Vancouver (Joint Oregon/Washington) Meet

This was the first joint meet between Washington and the Oregon groups. You had to wonder the weather up to this point had been rainy, but it turned out fine for this Saturday meet. Darren and Geo trained to Olympia to pick up with Josh, Autumn and Carrie, stopped to eat breakfast at Cattin's and wait to hook up with Bill who was late. Trained on down to Vancouver to meet up with the others from Oregon at Ft. Vancouver. We had 6 cars from each state represented, so a total of 12 cars. I forgot there was one from Okalahoma too (that's what the plates said). Even Matt who sold his Del Sol showed up with us with his new car, a yellow Ford Focus that was tricked out with body kit/wheels, interior etc. The ages ranged from young to the older folks, guys and gals, so it was a real mixed group who all enjoyed the Del Sol. Also from mild (Stock) to wild (full body kits). Looked over everyone's cars, talked about mods, etc. then went to get something to eat at Burger King. Trained there without anyone getting lost. Sat around and talked some more with everyone. I'm sure all made new friends with the people to our south, I know I did. It was a lot of fun for all, have to make it a annual thing for the Washington/Oregon groups. Thanks to all for coming and making it the success it was. - Geo
