How To: Throttle Cable Adjustment

1: Make sure that the cable move smoothly with no binding or sticking before adjusting. 2: Loosen the two nuts (locknut (front one) and the adjusting nut (back one)) on the bracket holding the throttle cable.

3: Pull/slide cable back to remove the slack without moving the throttle wheel on the throttle body where the cable end attaches.

4: Hand tighten the adjusting nut and check the deflection (10-12 mm, .39-.47 in) , readjust the adjusting nut as necessary to get the proper deflection. (Be careful when checking deflection that the throttle plate is not being opened).

5: Tighten locknut and adjusting nut with a pair of wrenches after proper deflection is reached and recheck deflection one more time to make sure it hasn't changed.

6:Done.
