How To: Adjust Your E-Brake

By: GEO

Tools Required:
10 mm wrench or a 1/4 inch racket with a deep 10 mm socket

How to adjust:
1. Raise the rear of car on jack stands, blocks.
* ** Please don't use just a jack alone to hold the car up. ***

2. Pull up cover on the brake handle and remove cap that fits over the nut on the lever, pull handle up just one click. Removal of the center console is not necessary to make or do this adjustment.

3. Adjust the nut till a slight drag is felt on rear wheels.

4 With e-brake handle now fully released, no drag should be felt on rear wheels.

5. With lever pulled 6-10 notches, rear wheels should be fully locked.

6. Now replace cap back over nut and the pull/push the cover back down.

7. Lower car to ground, done.

NOTE: Lever should be locking the wheels fully with it just pulled 6-10 notches/clicks up. With it fully released no drag should be felt on the back wheels, check both tires/sides. It has to be jacked up for this test.
